Representative Guidelines for Live Workshops

As the Family Constellations Facilitator, it is my role to guide the client and the representatives during the constellation. Representatives help reveal hidden generational dynamics to help restore order and balance to the client’s family system and healing for the client. The facilitator is responsible for discerning the right solutions from the complexity, confusion, chaos and suffering shared by the client, expressed by the representatives and with the insights gained from the Knowing Field.

  • Most of what we experience in Family Constellations is felt. The most common question I will ask is “how do you feel?”

  • Stay neutral and avoid making any interpretations or assumptions. Simply describe what you feel in the representation without any expectations about your role. Set aside your interpretations, judgments, or pity. Don’t try to fix or cause anything to happen in the constellation.

  • Don’t worry about whether you’re doing it right or wrong. Whatever happens in the constellation is valuable information. If you don’t feel anything, that might be exactly what’s needed in the constellation. At any point you can ask for clarification or help with your representation.

  • Take care of yourself during the constellation. Avoid going too deep into your representation or experiencing physical discomfort during the process. There is no reason for you to get personally triggered by what you are representing.

  • Please wait until I ask you to share what you are feeling. Stay in place until I suggest a movement, encourage you to follow a movement, or let you know you can move freely within the space. Do not resist me if I move you to a new location even if that is what the role is feeling.

  • Never use any force or get physical with another representative.

  • If I suggest a sentence that is not right in the role, you can change it to what feels right to what you are representing or not say it. If I direct you to say something louder or quieter, please try to do so.

  • Please don’t take it personally or feel you have done something wrong if I ask you to step out and have another participant continue with the representation. Each of us brings something unique to our representations.

  • If you possess the gift of channeling or using mediumship, please refrain from doing so during the constellations. Instead, focus on what you are feeling in the representation.

  • When the process is complete, please let go of what you are representing and step back. If you encounter any difficulties with this, please let me know immediately.

  • Representatives should not discuss the constellation after it has concluded. Clients should also not ask the representatives about their experiences.
