- Adoption
June 17, 2023 - 10am-1:30pm (CDT) (CHICAGO)
Discussion and Experiential
In this workshop we look at adoption and the hidden systemic dynamics that make it challenging. We will consider the interruptions to love between the parents who give up the child and feelings of abandonment, confusion, rage and grief for the child. We may also consider the often hidden and painful dynamics that lead to giving up a child. Finding reconciliation for biological parents and children always has a good benefit for all.
We will also look at the adoptive parent’s role. According to Bert Hellinger, "the crucial factor is the adoptive parents’ intentions. If they’re truly acting in the best interests of the child, then the adoption has a good chance of turning out well…” According to Hellinger, in adoption the biological parents, no matter their circumstances or reasons for not raising the child, must be honored by the adoptive parents.
The workshop will include an overview of the topic, a guided meditation for the entire group and one or more Family Constellations with participants. It is appropriate to those who are new to Family Constellations and more experienced participants or facilitators.
In all of our workshops everyone pays the same price and works together as a group and community. In all of our workshops everyone pays the same price and works together as a group and community. You can be on the list to receive a constellation.
