Overview of Bodywork and Energy Techniques

Reflexology uses points on the
feet to release restrictions in organs, glands, tissues and muscles. It
supports our organs and glands to function naturally. It works by
pressing on the feet, hand or ears to send signals to the central nervous system and
brain that than causes beneficial changes. Reflexology also supports energy
to move to where it is needed to create health. The techniques used
are very specialized and specific. Reflexology can:
- Reduces stress, tension, and
anxiety
- Increases blood and
lymphatic flow in organs and glands.
- Help removal of toxins
- Encourages the body to
create endorphins
- Stimulates the nervous system
and digestive system
The History of Zone Therapy and Reflexology
Trigger
Point Therapy deactivates painful points that maintain muscle spasm
and shortened tissues. A trigger point causes
"referred pain" in tissues supplied by nerves.
Trigger points can occur as a result of muscle trauma
(from car accidents, falls, sports- and work-related injuries, etc.), muscle
strain from repetitive movements at work or play, postural strain from standing
or sitting improperly for long periods at the computer, emotional stress,
anxiety, allergies, nutritional deficiencies, inflammation, and toxins in the
environment. A single event can initiate a trigger point.
- Relieves Muscle Pain and Joint Pain.
- Relieves Muscle Tension and Restore Muscle Efficiency.
- Increases Flexibility and Range of Motion.
- Improves Blood Circulation and Energy Levels.
- Relieves pressure on nerves
Lymph Drainage Therapy flushes out
toxins that can irritate tissues causing an increase in chronic tension. The lymphatic system drains fluids,
detoxifies and regenerates tissues, filters out toxins and foreign substances
and helps us maintain a healthy immune system. LDT is a
light-touch, noninvasive technique that helps restore the natural rhythms of
the lymphatic system. LDT can:
-
Reduces pain
- Reduction of inflammation
- Stimulation of the immune
system
- Increased circulation in
muscle, fascia and joints
- Pre & Post Surgery
(reduction of swelling and faster healing)
Lymph Drainage Therapy supports the proper movement of lymph through the body.
Myofascial Release unwinds the
chronic tension held in the connective tissue that wraps around our muscles and
bones.
Myofascial Release is a form of soft tissue therapy used to
treat contracted connective tissues that result in pain and restriction of
motion. Fascia is the soft tissue that
provides support and protection for most structures within the human body,
including muscle. This connected tissue can become restricted due to disease,
overuse, trauma, infectious agents, or inactivity, often resulting in pain,
muscle tension, and corresponding diminished blood flow.
-
Relaxing contracted muscles
-
Returning tissues to normal
functioning and motion
- Reduction in inflammation in tissues
- Elimination of scar tissue
-
Increasing circulation and lymphatic drainage
Energy Techniques changes patterns of tension that are held in our energy
field. The Energy Healing that I employ is derived from my experience with
a wide range of methods including: Pranic Healing, Zero
Balancing, Therapeutic Touch, Qi Gong, Hands-on Healing and many years
of Tai Chi Chaun.
Energy fields are found around us and
within our physical bodies. These invisible fields or “chi” can become
blocked or imbalanced by physical, emotional, spiritual and
environmental conditions or stressors. Tension in the energy field in can result in:
- Extreme stress and sensitivity to environment
- Energy blockages in the body and Chakras
- Fatigue and weakness
- Anxiety and depression
- Illnesses that don’t respond to treatment
